On arrival the cottage looked small but what a surprise wow, spacious, clean, loved it, will definitely go again. The Bullen family. Mrs B, MIDDLESBROUGH, Cleveland 03 November 2010
Good position and great views of the River Esk. Mr W, NORWICH 08 October 2010
It was our 3rd successive holiday in Captain Cook's Cottages at Whitby, the layout being ideal for 3 generations of our family. The location is superb and the park suited to our particular needs with swimming pool and children's play areas. The staff were very helpful. Mrs H, GRANTHAM 24 August 2010
Lovely views over river and railway, swimming pool excellent. Mrs B, Wymondham, Norfolk 22 August 2010
Beautiful cottages with a gorgeous view. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Suitable for everyone and lots to do in the area. Miss B, PENICUIK, Midlothian 25 July 2010
A beautiful location, within easy walking distance of the town. The children thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the play park. There was enough for them to do, while the site was generally quiet and peaceful for us to relax. Our accommodation was excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful. Mrs S, Glasgow, Lanarkshire 23 July 2010
This was our 4th holiday at Captain Cooks Haven - we absolutely love the cottage and keep coming back! The facilities are great, and the kids absolutely adore the swimming pool. The location is peaceful, beautiful and very scenic, and the on site staff are very friendly and helpful. The centre of Whitby is only 10 minutes walk away so the cottage location is ideally situated for the many attractions that Whitby has to offer. This is a great base for exploring the North York Moors, with Goathland (Heartbeat's Aidensfield) only being 15 minutes drive away. Our favourite places are Staithes, Sandsend, Goathland, Ruswarp and Whitby itself - all easy to get to by car in a short time. When visiting Whitby we always pay a visit to the famous Magpie Cafe for some of their famous fish and chips, you have to try them!
We'll be back next year too for holiday number 5! Mr B, Colchester, ESSEX 08 July 2010
Walks and cycle trails, fantastic views, steam trains passing by site. A lovely family holiday. Mrs G, Louth, Lincolnshire 01 July 2010
Site was very well placed for exploring Whitby and surrounding area, we had 2 under 3's in our group and they enjoyed the park facilities and were never bored. The accommodation was really nice, we stayed in a 3 story cottage, 4 adults and 2 children and they was plenty of space. Mrs V, SALFORD, Manchester 24 June 2010
We thought the accommodation and area was lovely. Close to Whitby just a 25 minute walk. Surrounding areas very accessible by car. Enjoyed the whole week. Mr K, MILTON KEYNES, Buckinghamshire 01 June 2010
We had a fantastic time staying here. The park is in a beautiful location about half hour walk into Whitby. Whitby is lovely and it made extra special as the sun was shining! Mrs H, NOTTINGHAM, Nottinghamshire 24 May 2010
I have been visiting Captain Cooke's Haven for 15 years now and my girls have grown up playing in the pool. This year both girls in their 20's were more than happy to come with us and we had to add a boyfriend this time and are looking forward to next year, we may never get rid of them. The site, accomodation and staff have always been first class and this year was no exception. I have reccomended Captain Cooke's to so may people and none of them have ever been dissapointed. Thank you again for a lovely holiday and I will see you next year... Mrs C, ILMINSTER, Somerset 02 May 2010
Excellent location and accommodation. Cottages were well furnished and equipped, very clean and well maintained. Very helpful and friendly staff made the holiday even more enjoyable. Swimming pool, changing rooms and surrounding areas exceptionally well maintained. The site as a whole was a credit to the park staff. Mr T, wigan, lancs 13 November 2009
The park is so well situated and makes access to Whitby and surroundings so easy. We found it nice and quiet, because there are not loads of cottages on top of each other. The cottages are spread out over a big area. We had a great view over the river and bridge. The cottage was luxurious, well equipped for self catering with a very high standard of furnishing. The pool was brilliant and the fact that you have your own key and could access it during the day when it suits you was really great. It meant we could go when it was quiet and that was more relaxing. We all had a lovely time and will definitely consider it again in future. Dr D, EARLSTON, Berwickshire 11 November 2009
A very comfortable and spotlessly clean cottage with every mod-con. A lovely and quiet setting with an easy scenic walk into Whitbys town centre. An excellent base to explore the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. Mrs T, SUNDERLAND, Tyne and Wear 12 October 2009
I would recommend this holiday to everyone. We had a busy week and went everywhere within a 20 mile radius of the site and beyond on a couple of occasions and found everywhere very accessible but the views are beautiful from the site so you don't need to much if you don't want to. It's a must stay if you like steam trains as it is so close to the North York Moors Railway BRILLIANT. Mrs M, CRAMLINGTON 23 August 2009
Fantastic views and superb location. Mrs W, Leicester, Leicestershire 25 October 2008
A location we would choose again for a family holiday. Mrs H, Grantham 27 September 2008
It was an ideal touring base in a lovely setback area, it was home from home. Mrs B, Burnley 06 September 2008
The accommodation was very good and to a high standard. The amenities were clean and organised and only a 2 minute drive into Whitby centre. The kids really enjoyed the swimming pool and even in mid November we still had a very enjoyable break! Mr L, Rotherham, South Yorkshire 16 November 2007
Home from home accommodation - we could not ask for better. A wonderful area, and well placed for exploring Whitby and the surrounding area. Mrs M, Lincoln, Lincolnshire 22 September 2007
A well kept park with friendly, non invasive staff. The Captain Cooks Cottage that we stayed in was of an excellent standard and easily spacious enough for our family of five - very highly recommended! Mr W, Norwich, Norfolk 18 August 2007
The location of the park overlooking the river and viaduct is fantastic! Mrs H 24 February 2007
My friends and I really enjoyed Captain Cook's Haven. The views were lovely, and we could even see the abbey from the bridge - it was very peaceful. The cottage was clean, and I was particularly impressed with how clean the kitchen was. Miss H 26 September 2006
A home from home in a great location with real tourist venues and scenery nearby - couldn't fault it! Mr M 23 September 2006
